Q: Can I order through KBR?

A: Because we are a wholesale company, you must be a kitchen dealer or design company to order through us.

Q: What do I need to know for my measure appointment?

A: All cabinets must be set in place. If they are not set KBR will not measure for the countertops. All appliances and faucets must be present at time of measure. This is so we have all accurate information to proceed with your order. All countertops must be cleaned off prior to KBR arriving.

Q: Do I have to be home upon KBR arriving for my appointment?

A: Yes. Someone over the age of 18 must be present while KBR is at your home. This is to answer any questions we may have and legal issues.

Q: What is the lead time after the measure?

A: Our typical lead time is 10-12 working days. This is based on all material being available. We suggest that prior to ordering, call and make sure that the material and color you are ordering is not on backorder.

Q: What do I need to know about the installation?

A: The countertops that are present in your home must be removed if KBR is not providing the tear out and removal service. Installing countertops can be very dusty at times so we suggest put away any items around the house that you do not want to get the dust on. Clean out the top drawers of the cabinets. We suggest that you cover some furniture in the surrounding areas with a sheet (or similar) to prevent dust from getting on them. We will do our best to provide a clean installation for you. Also note, if this is new construction and you have NEW hardwood floors, have just painted any of the areas or a driveway is being poured, please tell KBR when you set the install date. This helps our installers be prepared when they arrive at your home.

Q: How long does the installation take?

A: A typical installation should last 3-4 hours. If we have to tear out your existing countertops, the procedure may take a little longer.

Q: What about plumbing?

A: KBR does offer the sink, disposal, and dishwasher hookup. This hookup only pertains to existing lines. The dishwasher must be placed in the desired spot for us to hook it up. We will not remove an old dishwasher and install a new one. For granite and quartz countertops, the sink must be set for 24 hours before the plumbing can be hooked up. This allows the adhesive to bond the countertop and sink together. Water will weigh the sink down and will not let the adhesive bond, which then leads to sinks pulling away, and possibly falling out of the countertop.

Q: If I notice a problem with my countertop who do I call?

A: KBR suggests that you call the company that you ordered your countertop through first. They will contact us to set up a service call.

Q: Is there a warranty on my countertop?

A: KBR offers a 1 year warranty on labor. This is true only on countertops we install. The product manufacturer offers the warranty on their product. A copy of this is left with you at the time of the installation. If you are unsure of the warranty, each manufacturer offers a copy of the warranty on their website. You may also call KBR and we will be happy to explain it to you or point you in the right direction.
